They slipped 40 points behind table-toppers Berkswell following a 115-run defeat.

A patient unbeaten 107 from England Under-19s hopeful Oliver Westbury and 44 from the experienced Ed Foster took Shrewsbury to 230-7 at the end of 55 overs.

England Under-19s squad member, Zen Malik, picked up 3-62 for Wolverhampton.

In reply, Wolverhampton were skittled for 115 with Wasim Jaffer dismissed for 21, reducing his season's league average from 707.00 to 364.00.

Berkswell took full advantage with a four-wicket win over West Bromwich Dartmouth at Sandwell Park.

Apart from Ateeq Javid (79), Dartmouth struggled against teenage spinner Mohammed Ahmed (5-33) and Derbyshire's Tom Milnes (3-40) and they were all out for 169.

Oliver Haley (79) set Berkswell on their way to another victory in their quest for their first title crown.

Walsall were held to a draw by win-less Leamington Spa. After the loss of their first four wickets for 52, Walsall were able to declare on 242-5.

It came thanks to a fifth-wicket partnership of 152 between Staffordshire wicket-keeper James Middleton (122no) and skipper David Powles.

A fighting 98 from Middleton's predecessor in the Staffordshire side, Alex Mellor, placed Leamington in a position to clinch their first victory of the season.

However, once he was out to Ed Denham at 168, five more wickets fell to the former Dorset all-rounder, who finished with 6-60 as Leamington closed on 186-8.

After a disappointing start to the season, Kidderminster have moved into fourth place after a four-wicket win over neighbours Ombersley, who were limited to 193-7.

The Ombersley innings fell away after Nick Hammond (64) and Liam Gwynne (41) had given them a great start, with Herefordshire skipper Matt Pardoe taking 5-47.

Pardoe, who has missed a good part of the season so far due to school duties, made up for lost time by hitting 77 to set Kidderminster on their way to a comfortable victory.

Only 19 points separate the top four clubs in the Division One table, with Smethwick well placed just a single point behind leaders Dorridge following a seven-wicket success over Barnards Green.

Barnards Green were dismissed for 129, with four wickets each for Sukhjit Singh (4-24) and Amitoze Singh (4-25), the latter finishing unbeaten on 58 from 43 balls.

Himley are fourth, a further 18 points back from Smethwick after dismissing Wellington for 159 - Chris Boroughs (3-33) the pick of the bowlers.

The all-rounder then hit 40 in Himley's reply, resisting the wiles of Bhargav Merai (4-48).

Old Hill moved off the bottom of the table with a highly-impressive eight-wicket win at Bromsgrove, thanks to Jimmy Howell (93 for 86 balls) and Monil Patel (96 from 67 balls).

In Division Two, Wombourne gave leaders Tamworth a fright before succumbing to defeat.

The table-toppers needed an aggressive 40 from 31 balls from Josh Bowker to see them to 164-9 - David Hemming taking 3-49 - at Wombourne, who were dismissed for 133 in reply.

Cannock & Rugeley Hawks (172) were defeated by Shifnal (226-9), despite 4-45 for Johar Ahmed.

Halesowen held on for a losing draw against win-less Coventry & North Warwickshire, responding to the home side's total of 233-8 with 184-8. Will Barrett top-scored with an unbeaten 63.

Rock-bottom Stourbridge's hopes of a second win in two weeks were dashed by Penkridge, who romped to an easy eight-wicket win.

Richard Bradley (21) was the only Stourbridge batsman to exceed 20 in their total of 91, while Irish Saxen (4-12), Rana Hassan (51 no) and Ishaq Mohammed (35) eased Penkridge to their third win on the bounce.

With the top four in Division Three facing each other, there was one result that went with the form-book and one result that went against it.

Leaders Fordhouses were 56-run victors over third-placed Astwood Bank, while Streetly moved up into joint second place with a seven-wicket success against second-placed Pershore.

Last week's century maker Alex McChristie top-scored for Fordhouses with 63 in a total of 185 against Astwood Bank, who were dismissed for 129 thanks in part to Kashif Hussein (4-24).

There were also wins for Lichfield and Brewood - for whom Dewald Joubert scored 128 in a mammoth total of 342-7.
