But even with the assistance of former England Test star Devon Malcolm, the teachers – or Headmistress' XI – still couldn't teach the students a lesson.

Their total of 175 all out fell seven runs short of the school team's 182-6, and headmistress Mrs Kathy Crewe-Read presented the trophy to the winning team, who were delighted to have put one over on their teachers.

Fast bowler Malcolm, who played 40 Test matches for England between 1989 and 1997, taking 128 wickets, batted and bowled in the match.
