John Ruddy: No pressure on Wolves for upcoming games
Former Wolves goalkeeper John Ruddy believes Gary O'Neil's side have nothing to fear in their difficult run of fixtures.
Wolves return from the international break by welcoming Liverpool to Molineux on Saturday, before travelling to Luton and then facing Manchester City.
Current Birmingham City shot-stopper Ruddy, who left Wolves on a free in 2022, believes his former side must target the Luton fixture as a win but have little pressure in the tough tests either side of that game.
"You look at the games and anything from Liverpool is bonus points, Luton is the game you're looking to win, and then City is bonus points too," Ruddy said on the Wolves Weekly podcast.
"In two out of three of those games there's no pressure to get any points because they're not expected to.
"The big test will be the Luton game because Luton will be looking at Wolves in the same vein and thinking 'we can pick up points against Wolves'.
"They have to make sure they're beating the so-called weaker teams and doing what they've done over a number of years by making themselves hard to beat for the bigger teams, and hope they can nick something, whether that be a point or three points.
"For me, those games take care of themselves. It's the Luton game that's the one."
After a turbulent time in which O'Neil replaced Julen Lopetegui just days before the start of the season, Wolves have had more time to train during the break.
That has also helped them get new signings into training after a busy end to the transfer window, and Ruddy believes Wolves will benefit from the window closing.
"The positive that Gary has, is there's no more disruptions now," Ruddy added.
"Up until January the window is shut and he knows his squad and who he's working with.
"That's the same for the players. They know what he's going to be asking of them on a daily basis and they can work on it.
"It's not going to be a surprise if you see them pick up form in the next few weeks and put some results together.
"If you can marry the two, with the balance of attacking and defending, then there's nothing to worry about in my eyes."
