Wolves have had many over the years – captains that have defined successful eras in the club’s history.

But beyond that one skipper, every dressing room needs a united group filled with loud voices.

Despite all of Wolves’ success during the Nuno Espirito Santo era, a dressing room culture that saw cliques form has has now caught up with the club.

Cultural difference and language barriers meant the Portuguese contingent at the club often spent time together away from the rest of the group and rarely mingled with other members of the squad, and vice versa.

Wolves’ team has undergone a revamp with many of the ‘old guard’ departing, and with it has come a change in the policing of the dressing room.

A new leadership group has formed made up of Dan Bentley, Max Kilman, Craig Dawson, Nelson Semedo, Mario Lemina and Pablo Sarabia. Although a new captain has not been officially announced, Kilman has also been wearing the armband in pre-season.
