Led by manager Nuno Espirito Santo, that incredible group of players finished on 99 points with a comfortable nine-point gap to second-placed Cardiff.

With star midfielder Ruben Neves now set to leave the club after six seasons, we look back on where each influential member of that team is now.

John Ruddy

After helping Wolves to promotion, Ruddy quickly became the back-up goalkeeper once Rui Patricio was signed and later when Jose Sa came in. A good servant to the club, Ruddy left when his contract expired last summer. He has since joined Birmingham and is back to playing as a first choice goalkeeper in the Championship.

Will Norris

Norris played second fiddle to Ruddy and eventually left Wolves for Burnley in 2020. He spent the second half of last season on-loan at Peterborough and last week left Burnley to join Portsmouth permanently.

Matt Doherty

A key cog at right-wing-back, Doherty had a superb career at Wolves and particularly under Nuno. He departed in 2020 for Spurs in a £15million move and was in and out of their team. After falling out of favour, Spurs terminated his contract in January to allow him to join Spanish side Atletico Madrid on a free transfer. He could now be on the move again this summer.

Barry Douglas

A superb dead-ball specialist with a wonderful cross, Douglas was a fan favourite during his one year at Wolves. He managed a remarkable 15 assists and five goals in all competitions as Wolves got promoted before leaving for Leeds. He's now back playing abroad with Lech Poznan.

Ruben Vinagre

Initially joining on-loan, Vinagre made 13 appearances as Wolves won the league. He enjoyed a good spell with Wolves once they got promoted before loan spells with Olympiacos, Famalicao and Sporting came. Last summer he joined Sporting permanently before almost instantly making a return to England as he joined Everton on-loan. He's now back with Sporting.
