Ruben Neves cannot rejoin the Wolves squad yet as he is still deemed too infectious, Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed.

The 24-year-old midfielder's 10 days of self-isolation had ended and he was supposed to link back up with the squad ahead of Sunday's clash with Burnley.

But the Portuguese has to stay away for a bit longer after undergoing Premier League Covid testing, although Nuno says he feels fine.

Explaining the situation, Nuno said: "Unfortunately, he's still in isolation.

"He tested and is not allowed yet to join the group. It's strange. It's been hard to understand.

"We respect the health of the players, but it's been very tough. The concentration of the virus is still higher than what is allowed to rejoin the group."

Nuno added: "Ruben is OK. He's working by himself at home. We're trying to provide him with what we can in terms of fitness.

"He feels good, so we're waiting for the levels to decrease so he can join us."
