New kick-off time for Wolves vs Sheffield United to avoid Prince Philip funeral clash
Wolves’ Premier League fixture with Sheffield United this Saturday has been moved back to 8.15pm to avoid clashing with the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip.
The club joined British football by paying tribute to His Royal Highness, who passed away at the age of 99 last week, by observing a two-minute silence before the fixture win over Fulham on Friday night, while the players wore black armbands.
The Duke of Edinburgh's funeral will take place at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle at 3pm on Saturday April 17, when a national minute's silence will be observed.
Wolves’ fixture with the Blades was due to kick-off at the same time, the decision has been made to move the game to later on Saturday evening.
The match will still be broadcast live on Sky Sports as origially planned.
