John McGinn of Aston Villa challenges Adama Traore of Wolverhampton Wanderers (AMA)

Rui Patrício

Was helpless as Villa hit the woodwork twice in the first-half and was only forced into making one real save in injury time from Watkins, but it was a big one - 7

Leander Dendoncker

Back in defence, it was a first-half to forget for the Belgian. Gave the ball away numerous times and was out of position on several occasions, improved in second-half - 5

Conor Coady

Led the back line well and made some key tackles throughout the game. On another day, he could have had a brace to add to his goal in midweek, but will be disappointed he didn't convert - 6

Romain Saïss

Headed the ball with authority, however his passing was inconsistent throughout. But it's the miss of the season that will cause the Moroccan international some sleepless nights - 5

Nélson Semedo

Was run ragged in the first half, but constantly had to help out Dendoncker down Wolves' right hand-side. Still lacking the confidence to take on a player - 6

Ruben Neves

Far too passive and lost the ball on a couple of occasions, but was much improved in the second-half and moved the ball well - 6

João Moutinho

Quiet on the day, struggled to make a real impact on the game. Has to be question marks whether he's a regular starter next season - 5

Jonny Castro Otto

A solid if unspectacular performance from the Spaniard. Wolves' shape looks a lot better and he'll only continue to improve as he regains his match sharpness - 6

Pedro Neto

Was Wolves' only real attacking outlet and almost scored a stunning goal after a brilliant 40-yard run. Needs a lot more support, if you stop Neto, you stop Wolves - 7

Adama Traoré

Way too passive and hardly featured at all in the first-half. Improved after the break and had a couple of positive runs, but still nowhere near enough - 5

Willian Jose

Still searching for his first goal and it doesn't look like it's going to come anytime soon. Wolves taking a £22m option on the striker looks highly unlikely at this point - 5

Subs

Fabio Silva

Didn't have much time to make an impact, had one decent run, but needs to improve his pace across the ground in the off-season - 6
