Eves, who made 214 appearances and scored 53 goals in gold and black, hopes to raise £1,000 for Wolverhampton Samaritans.

Up for grabs is a Wolves shirt signed by all of last season's squad, who reached the Europa League quarter-finals and finished seventh in the Premier League.

"Following a phone call with the leaders of the Wolverhampton Samaritans I was alarmed, but not surprised, that they are run off their feet and inundated with enquiries regarding stress and anxiety as a direct result of the lockdown measures," said Eves.

"Many of those calls are from people with thoughts about suicide either concerning themselves or someone close to them.

"That is why myself and the members of the Rotary Club of the City of Wolverhampton have decided to raise money for this essential service for the people of Wolverhampton and surrounding areas."

Entrance to the prize draw closes at midnight on January 31, with everybody who donates £5 or more going into the draw which will take place on February 1.

More than £600 has been raised so far and the winner will be announced on the Rotary Club of Wolverhampton's Facebook page.
