Steve Bull: Big opportunity for Patrick Cutrone back at Wolves

Patrick Cutrone is back at Wolves and you have got to think he will be chomping at the bit.

What a chance this is for him to get his career back on track. Ultimately, it is down to him now.

He had a difficult time in Italy with Fiorentina, of course, and did not get as much game time as he would have wanted, but he will be raring to go – like a dog on a lead.

To be fair, I thought he had potential when he was first with us.

Things did not work out for whatever reason and it looked like he had played his last game in a Wolves shirt, but this is a second chance for the lad.

He bolsters things up front, too, which was deeply needed as we have got to try to get a run of wins on the board over the coming weeks.

Morgan Gibbs-White is also back in the fold now after a decent time on loan at Swansea.

With how short the squad is at the minute amid all the injuries, this is an opportunity for him to stake a real claim as well.

It seems he learned his lesson after the trouble he got into last year, breaking lockdown rules.

He went to a different environment and got some games under his belt in the Championship, a proper test.

Although he was kept out for a fair amount of time with a foot injury which would have been frustrating, he should be all the better for that experience – hopefully more mature both on and off the pitch.

Swansea fans were sad to see him go which tells you what you need to know.

He made a good impression there, so fingers crossed he can take what he did there and really kick on under Nuno.

It is a great time to be coming in for both players – prove themselves and help get Wolves climbing back up the league table with some top performances.

Still, I would like to see us delve into the transfer market and get some players in as the squad is looking very bare.

With any more injuries, we will be in a worrying situation, so we have got to be careful.

I just think we need more men on deck as we are low on numbers.

January is always a tough window to do the right business in as the only players majorly available tend to be ones who aren’t getting minutes at their current clubs.

But hopefully something comes up as it would be nice to see some fresh faces, to give us more strength in depth for the final months of the season.
