Nuno: Rayan Ait-Nouri was 'hugely' helpful in Wolves win
Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is delighted for Rayan Ait-Nouri after he helped 'hugely' in the free-flowing victory over Crystal Palace.
The 19-year-old wing-back, signed on loan from Angers with a £20million option to buy next summer, broke the deadlock on his debut with a sweet left-footed strike before Daniel Podence grabbed a second at Molineux.
It was a vastly encouraging display from the youngster, and Nuno – whose side are now third in the Premier League – said: "He has talent and I'm really happy for him.
"He's 19, has come to a different country and was able to score in his first game in the Premier League and help the team.
"He should be proud as he's a young boy. He's played in the Premier League and played good.
"It's a memorable day with the goal that he scored and it helped the team hugely. It was fantastic.
"I was smiling because football is like this, sometimes you go in your first game and you score. I'm really happy for him."
Nuno, though, was also keen to point out that Ait-Nouri still has a lot of developing to do.
The Wolves chief also expressed his happiness in seeing Podence open his account for the season after going close in previous games – feeling that will give him a big confidence boost.
"Rayan has been working two or three weeks now and we see he has a lot of aspects of his game to improve, and we're working on that," said Nuno.
"There a lot of things to improve, but he's a talented boy.
"Of course, I'm really pleased for Daniel as he's been playing really, really good.
"He had previous matches where he had good chances and fantastic saves.
"Even in this game, he had clear chances, but he scored and that's important for him.
"He's a fantastic player that needs this confidence to finish the actions properly."
Meanwhile, skipper Conor Coady also praised Ait-Nouri's display against the Eagles as he added: "He's sharp, really sharp. He turns you inside out and has bags of tricks.
"It's important we try and help him settle in as quick as possible.
"He's a young boy coming from a different country, he's a fantastic person and is brilliant to have around the place.
"It's up to us as a team and as friends to make him settle as quick as possible."
