Rui Patricio

The goalkeeper had little to do in terms of strong efforts on goal, but throughout the afternoon he collected well from set pieces to ease the pressure on his defence.

Solid...8

Willy Boly

The towering defender was back to his best with a commanding display. A huge improvement on his last two showings that have seen the giant centre-back look fragile.

Commanding...8

Conor Coady

Elegant on the ball and a leader in defence, Coady was a calming influence on the young defender to his left. A solid showing from the England international.

Leader..8

Max Kilman

Despite it being his first game of the season, Kilman looked assured and comfortable slotting into defence. Perhaps guilty of dropping deep at times, but he did well.

Assured...7

Nelson Semedo

The former Barcelona man offers a significant threat going forward but can, at times, be caught out in defence. In a tough first half he was one of Wolves’ few outlets. Semedo seemed to pick up a knock towards the end of the game and his absence would be a blow.

Attacking...8

Leander Dendoncker

A quiet performance on the eye, but Dendoncker added a grittiness to the Wolves midfield. Neves flourished when Dendoncker was able to do the dirty work.

Gritty...7

Ruben Neves

The orchestrator of most of Wolves’ attacks. Neves received the ball deep but consistently looked forward and recycled the ball well.

Orchestrator... 8

Romain Saiss

Playing out of position at left-wing-back, Saiss understandably did not offer much of a threat going forward, but he did cover well for Kilman and occasionally stepped into midfield when called upon.

Determined...7

Pedro Neto

The young forward took his goal nicely and was often involved in the Wolves attacks. Their best outfield player on the day and he suits the free role he is currently getting.

Superb...9

Daniel Podence

A disappointing return from injury for Podence. Isolated at times, when he did receive the ball his attempt at flicks and tricks rarely came off. Losing the ball too many times. He needs to return to pre-injury form for Wolves.

Disappointing...6

Raul Jimenez

The Mexican forward will never stop chasing and working for his team, but he was isolated for large parts of the game. Jimenez is forced to come deep and when he does Wolves lose their focal point. He also should have scored a glaring one-on-one chance.

Isolated...6

Substitutes

JOAO MOUTINHO (for Podence, 70), KI-JANA HOEVER (for Semedo, 78), ADAMA TRAORE (for Neto, 82). Subs not used: Ruddy, Burr, Vitinha, Silva.
