Portugal called up five Wolves stars, while Conor Coady and Adama Traore have been selected to represent England and Spain respectively.

Daniel Podence is one of those called up by Portugal, earning his second ever selection – although he is yet to earn a cap.

Although Nuno is pleased for his winger, he has revealed the vast majority of his squad will be away with their nations next week.

"I'm very happy because he's working very hard," he said.

"Last season, beginning of this season and it's well deserved.

"But not only him. It's almost 98 per cent of the squad (going away for internationals).

"It's a big thing for us in terms of the club have the recognition of the national teams to call up our players and trust them to represent their own countries.

"I'm delighted for all the players that are called up. Hopefully everything goes well.

"This improves them as players and people and it's what we want, for them to be better."

Coady has earned his second successive selection after impressing in his debut against Denmark last month and Nuno believes the players called up deserve credit.

"Of course (I am happy), but not only for Conor Coady but all the squad basically has been called up for international team squads.

"Next week they'll be three or four players here, that says a lot about the quality and talent of our players and how they have been able to improve.

"Finally deserving the calls for the national teams and the credit is to them because it's a huge moment in the football career that you are able to represent your own country.

"I'm delighted for them."
