The 22-year-old centre-half, who was signed from non-league Maidenhead United two years ago, was set to see his deal expire at the end of this season.

But after impressing in the Europa League and Premier League for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side over the past several months, he has signed an extension.

Although not announced by Wolves, Kilman is committed to the club for two more campaigns – while the former futsal star and his team-mates hope to finish this term soon, with football currently suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Kilman made his league bow for Wolves towards the end of last season – in which he also helped the club’s under-23s to the Premier League 2 Division Two crown – as he came on as a last-minute substitute against Fulham at Molineux.

He then made his full senior debut against Pyunik in Europa qualifying last August and has since made four more appearances in the competition.

Kilman has also played twice in the Premier League, twice in the Carabao Cup and once in the FA Cup this season.

Highly-rated by Nuno, he is very much part of the club’s long-term plans.

The only first-team player who is out of contract this summer is John Ruddy.

Wolves’ second-choice shot-stopper is likely to attract interest from clubs in both the top flight and the Championship if he decides not to stay – and according to reports in Turkey, is also being monitored by Besiktas.

The 33-year-old won the Golden Glove award for keeping 24 clean sheets as Wolves won the Championship title in 2017/18 but has since been Rui Patricio’s understudy, with his games limited to cup competitions.

Also out of contract in the summer are Bright Enobakhare and Phil Ofosu-Ayeh.

Both have been out of the first-team picture for a long time, with Enobakhare having an unsuccessful loan spell at Wigan in the first half of this season.

Ofosu-Ayeh, meanwhile, has been plagued by injuries ever since arriving at Wolves in 2017 – so much so that the German defender has failed to make a competitive appearance in gold and black.

Meanwhile, Wolves wing-back Ruben Vinagre has heaped praise on ‘fantastic’ club captain Conor Coady.

The 21-year-old Portuguese said: “He’s fantastic. A fantastic person.

“He’s a very good captain, the whole game he’s giving us information, giving us confidence.

“He’s really, really good. Very funny. He’s always in a good mood, he likes to laugh a lot, he’s fantastic.

“In terms of the game he’s what we know, puts the ball wherever he wants. He’s a very, very, very good person.

“I think that as a captain, we couldn’t give it to another.

“He’s a fantastic captain. He speaks very well, I like him very much.

“Tries to speak Portuguese sometimes. This almost every English players tries, even joking. He’s very good. Very cool.”
