Wolves have been hailed as a 'brilliant example' for promoted sides to follow by Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder.

Nuno Espirito Santo's charges have taken the Premier League by storm since promotion from the Championship.

They finished seventh last season and, with football suspended because of the coronavirus outbreak, are now sixth.

The Blades are level on points with Wolves, in seventh, and Wilder told Sky Sports: "Wolverhampton Wanderers, I'm a massive admirer of Nuno, that football club and his group of players.

"They go and they adjust from a physical point of view, in terms of the recovery.

"They usually play the same team, whether it's the Carabao Cup, FA Cup, Premier League or Europa League.

"You've seen how fantastically well they've done."

Wilder, like Wolves, will hope United can thrive in their second season back in the top flight, too, after surprising plenty of people this campaign with their unique style of football.

He added on Wolves: "They're possibly ahead of us in terms of how much they have invested into that football club over the last two or three years.

"But that's a brilliant example, that Wolverhampton Wanderers as a promoted side can handle the Premier League and go again.

"Their second season has been just as good if not better than their first one."
