On-loan Wolves striker Patrick Cutrone tests positive for coronavirus
On-loan Wolves forward Patrick Cutrone has tested positive for coronavirus.
Cutrone is one of three Fiorentina players who have contracted the disease, the club have confirmed.
The Italian returned to Serie A in January on an 18-month loan deal, six months after joining Wolves.
A club statement read: "Patrick Cutrone and German Pezzella and physiotherapist Stefano Dainelli underwent tests, as they were showing some symptoms.
"All three (were) positive and are in good health at their homes in Florence."
More on coronavirus:
Cutrone's move to Fiorentina will be made permanent in the summer of 2021 for a fee believed to be in the region of £15.3m.
The 22-year-old made just 12 Premier League appearances under Nuno Espirito Santo, scoring twice.
Fiorentina defender German Pezzella sent a message via Instagram after himself, Cutrone and Dusan Vlahovic tested positive for coronavirus.
“As you know, after the tests and two days with some symptoms, they confirmed I have COVID-19,” said the Argentina international.
“The symptoms have now disappeared and I am at home following the procedures indicated by my club’s medical staff."
It comes after all Premier League and Football League fixtures were suspended on Friday due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
The Government has not yet banned mass gatherings but many sports administrators have taken the decision themselves to cancel or postpone events.
