Steve Bull: Opportunity for Wolves to stake claim now

We host Norwich today, then go to Tottenham, play Brighton at home, travel to West Ham and welcome Bournemouth before the international break at the end of March.

They will not be easy games by any means as four of the five are fighting for their lives at the bottom of the table, while Spurs are chasing Europe along with us.

But if Nuno’s lot are at their best over the next month, they should come out of the five games with a healthy points return.

We have kept back-to-back clean sheets in the league and that is your base.

But now we have got to start putting the ball in the net and turn these draws into wins.

Against Leicester, we had some cracking chances and Raul Jimenez had an off night.

We should have won, so, hopefully we can be ruthless in front of goal against the Canaries.

To be fair, I watched Daniel Farke’s side against Liverpool and they were very difficult to break down, and they have some stylish players going forward – Todd Cantwell, Emi Buendia, and Teemu Pukki.

They play some nice stuff and, while they are bottom, they are not exactly dead and buried.

Norwich will keep going until it’s mathematically impossible to stay up.

So we cannot underestimate them but, in the same breath, if we are at our best we should be fine and come through with the three points we crave.

Victories are what we need now as the pack aiming for those European spots has grown.

You have got Sheffield United and Manchester United, of course, but then Everton and Arsenal have entered the mix too.

I’m obviously happy with where we are at the moment, competing at a level I never thought we would be a few years ago.

It would be a shame, though, not to finish as high as we should, just by drawing too many games.

As I say, today’s visitors are not to be sniffed at. They are a decent side with some very talented players.

But, ultimately, the onus is on beating them – after Thursday night’s incredible 4-0 Europa League win against Espanyol – as we aim to pick up a string of successes over the next few weeks.
