Wolves 0 Leicester 0 – Player ratings

Joe Edwards rates the players as Wolves draw 0-0 with Leicester at Molineux.

Published
Raul Jimenez did not have the best of games (AMA)

Rui Patricio

Claimed a few crosses well and saved some long-range shots from Tielemans as he kept a second clean sheet on the spin. 7

Willy Boly

Wolves' successive shut-outs are no coincidence. Boly's return from a broken ankle has made the back three more solid. Headed everything that came his way, including what he thought was a goal until VAR cruelly intervened. A colossus, who has a calming influence on those around him. 8

Conor Coady

A steady performance from the skipper, keeping hotshot Vardy quiet all night and looking typically assured on the ball. 7

Romain Saiss

Limited Perez to very little as he displayed his usual commitment to the cause and willingness to engage in physical battles. 7

Matt Doherty

Nodded the ball across goal for Boly's disallowed goal but, generally, failed to make a significant impact going forward. Has not made many overlapping runs – something we are so used to seeing from him – in recent weeks. 6

Leander Dendoncker

Playing in midfield instead of Moutinho, the Belgian put himself about and showed some nice skill at times. Fouled by Choudhury as the Leicester man picked up a second booking and got sent off. 7

Ruben Neves

Without making a defence-splitting pass, the Portuguese was efficient with the ball and pressed well off it. 7

Jonny Castro Otto

Put over a fantastic cross to Jimenez which the Mexican should have buried in the first half. He showed more attacking intent than Doherty, too. 7

Pedro Neto

Offside by a hair's breadth in the build-up to Boly's header, so it was ruled out. Displayed exceptional pace to beat Chilwell and set up a chance for Jota early on. 7

Raul Jimenez

Not his night. Missed a free header in the first half, and another one in second-half stoppage-time. It was a golden opportunity which he should have buried. Unusually wasteful. 6

Diogo Jota

Had his moments and won the ball back by showing good tenaciousness at times, but completely faded out of the game before eventually going off. Still not quite at 100 per cent, it seems. 6

Subs

Adama Traore (for Neto, 64)

Caused problems with his frightening speed and strength, as ever, against a tiring Chilwell. 7

Daniel Podence (for Jota, 78)

Did not see much of the ball on his home debut. N/A

Joao Moutinho (for Neves, 82)

His corner to the far post was headed wide by Jimenez late on. 6

Not used: Ruddy (gk), Kilman, Buur, Gibbs-White
