The Scottish front man joins the A-League side as technical director as the first staffing addition for new manager, and former Wolves team-mate, Carl Robinson.

The pair played together at the club for the first time in 2001 and also worked with each other at MLS club Vancouver Whitecaps.

Miller retired from playing last month after terminating his contract with Scottish Championship club Partick Thistle.

“Carl and I have been close for 20 years, I’ve worked with him when he was a player and when he was a manager,” Miller told the club’s website.

“When the opportunity came up for me to join him here in Newcastle and continue my development as a coach, I was keen to take it with both hands.

“Carl sees success in the near future here in Newcastle, and I want to do all I can to help make that happen.”
