The 20-year-old was recalled by Wolves from Shrewsbury Town earlier this month after Ruben Vinagre's hamstring injury.

But with Vinagre making good progress with his recovery, the club have loaned Giles back out.

After impressing hugely at Montgomery Waters Meadow, he was in discussions with Sam Ricketts' Salop about a return before tonight's 11pm deadline.

However, the Sky Blues have now announced his signing for the remainder of the campaign.

Coventry chief Mark Robins said: "I know I said we were not going to sign anybody earlier in our press conference, but the opportunity to sign Ryan came to us late this afternoon.

“He is a player who has been within our recruitment process and who we’ve been aware of for the last two years, and we are delighted he will now join us.

“He is a left-sided player, who has great versatility and can play in a number of positions.

“He is a creative player with great technical ability and will add pace and dynamism to our attacking play.

“We look forward to working with Ryan between now and the end of the season.”
