Wolves fell to a 2-1 defeat to the now 40-unbeaten table-topping Reds at Molineux, with Roberto Firmino winning it late on for the visitors.

The hosts, though, were in the ascendancy for a long spell after Raul Jimenez cancelled out Jordan Henderson's opener.

And Nuno said: "I think it was a good performance and a very good game of football.

"A fantastic game of football in a beautiful stadium, with our fans behind the team.

"It was good. We played good. We were organised and had the momentum in the second half.

"So, we keep on going. The result is a consequence of all these things – sometimes it's small details.

"You cannot change the truth, but we played good and this is what we want."

Wolves – seventh in the table – were hoping to topple Liverpool following victories over the rest of the big six in the Premier League over the past couple of years.

Diogo Jota, on as a substitute after recovering from a calf injury, missed a glorious chance to grab a point – which Nuno's side were deserving of – at the death, too.

On taking the Reds all the way for the second time a matter of weeks, after being edged out 1-0 at Anfield over Christmas, Nuno said: "It says a lot of things.

"What we did in the Championship, last season, what we're trying to do this season and what we're trying to build for the future.

"It's a growing process that takes time and patience, but I think we are in the right way.

"So, we keep going and searching for those details."

And on the small details that needs addressing, Nuno added: "Defend the set-piece better.

"Improve on the circulations – when we had chances to go but took too much time.

"But we played good. Happy with the performance. Very, very good."
