Tottenham 1 Wolves 3 - 29 December 2018

This result against a title chasing Spurs' is a distillation of what Wolves have done so well under Nuno in the Premier League.

After a stumbling start which saw Rui Patrício called into action a number of times, Harry Kane's brilliance in the 22nd minute gave the hosts a 1-0 lead.

But Wolves' dogged persistence, and commitment to counter-attacking football against the tougher sides, would see them turn the game around in a frantic final 20 minutes.

Willy Boly rose above a rooted Davinson Sánchez to head home Wolves' equaliser from a João Moutinho corner before Raúl Jiménez impossibly put Wolves ahead with his nuzzled strike.

Hélder Costa sealed the victory late on after finding himself all alone in front of goal, his shimmied shot proving enough to beat Hugo Lloris in what would prove to be his last goal in gold and black.

Wolves finished the match with just 39% possession and over 200 less passes than their opposition, but had created more chances. Wolves would climb up to seventh while Spurs' title chances diminished.

Wolves 2 Tottenham 3 - 3 November 2018

Wolves, and Molineux, were as despondent as they have been in recent years after 62 minutes of this match.

3-0 down, a goal wrongfully disallowed for offside, and seemingly little evidence of a raring comeback, Wolves looked dejected.

An excellently taken goal by Eric Lamela gave the visitors a 1-0 lead. Moments later Lucas Moura's simplistic header doubled their advantage.

Harry Kane's reactionary rebound sucked any hope out of Molineux that may have been lingering, before it soon all came rushing back.

Two penalties finished with intense precision, first from Neves, then Jimenez, remoulded the atmosphere in the stadium, but Wolves were ultimately unable to find the third.

Despite Wolves' rocky relationship with VAR this season, fans would have been clamouring for it after this match.

Steven Fletcher's controversial first half goal gave Wolves a draw against a Spurs side in the nascent years of their staggering new era.

Wolves scored with their first attack of the game, which saw them only record three shots on target, after Roger Johnson's parried header was tucked away by Fletcher in the 22nd minute.

Future Ballon d'Or winner, Luka Modrić, drilled home the equaliser from 20-yards, but Spurs were left running on fumes as Wolves sat deep to defend the much needed point following a six-match winless run.

Tottenham failed to join Manchester City atop of the Premier League, while Wolves slowly crept further up the table in the season they would finish bottom of the Premier League.

Wolves 0 Tottenham 2 - 10 September 2011

A first league win for Spurs and a debut goal for Emmanuel Adebayor condemned Wolves to defeat on a day they did very little to show that they didn't belong in the Premier League.

Adebayor rounded Wayne Hennessey to tap home Tottenham's first before Jermain Defoe interchanged a couple of swift passes with Niko Kranjčar, sliding past the comical tumble of Christophe Berra, and shooting low to secure the victory.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp said after the game that he thinks Wolves ''are the team I think could really push on this season.''

Wolves would end the season bottom of the league by six points with Terry Connor as their manager.

Wolves 3 Tottenham 3 - 06 March 2011

A draw against Champions League chasing Spurs wasn't enough to lift Wolves out of the bottom three in the season Wolves rescued themselves from relegation against Blackburn.

Kevin Doyle gave Wolves the lead before Jermaine Defoe equalised just ten minutes later with a strike from just outside the area.

Wolves and Spurs would continue to trade blows with Defoe and Doyle both scoring their second of the match within five minutes of each other.

The forgotten Roman Pavlyuchenko's wicked strike restored Spurs' lead just after the break, but Fletcher would burgle a point for the deserving Wolves three minutes from time.

A Spurs victory over Birmingham coupled with Stephen Hunt's superb late strike on the final day of the season saw Wolves dramatically survive the drop.
