Nuno: I'm very very proud
Pride was the overriding feeling for Nuno Espirito Santo following Wolves' stunning success at the home of Premier League champions Manchester City.
The Molineux men executed the perfect away-day performance that saw them blunt free-scoring City before clinching the win with two fine counter-attacking strikes from Adama Traore.
"I'm very, very proud. It was a good performance," said Nuno.
"More than the performance, it was the work that the players did. They run and run.
"It's so hard to control City. They are so good. The speed of the ball, the idea of football that Pep has.
"We started the game well, we were very, very organised.
"When you play against City, the first thing you have to think about is stopping them from playing, how you control them having chances.
"The first half was all about how the team was organised, how the team worked.
"We didn’t concede many chances in the first half. We had two good chances and we must finish the action.
"But it is difficult to play against Manchester City. They play so fast, but the chances came eventually. More importantly is how the players did their tasks, very good."
The victory sees Wolves up to 11th in the Premier League ahead of the international break and saw them record a third successive clean sheet following the home win against Watford and the Europa League success in Besiktas.
