Nuno: I won't abandon any Wolves players

Nuno Espirito Santo will not abandon any of his Wolves pack as he bids to bounce back from defeat at Crystal Palace.

Nuno believes his side improved from their 5-2 defeat at Chelsea in the 1-0 opening Europa League group game defeat to Braga on Thursday night.

But once again Wolves were felled by mistakes at the back.

Recalled centre-half Ryan Bennett's loose pass in his own half allowed Braga to break on the left wing with goalscorer Ricardo Horta left completely unmarked on the opposite flank.

For Nuno the inquest will begin but he is keen to help his players find solutions rather than abandon them as Wolves aim to pick up their first Premier League win of the season at Selhurst Park.

How difficult is it to re-energise the players when you are not getting the results?

He answered: "We do not base our analysis on the result.

"We base it on the performance.

"I think we improve from the last performance.

"The result has an effect on expectations outside that we have to manage.

"This is where we have to work as a group, speak together and have dialogue because one thing I do not do is I do not abandon a player.

"We realise if they are not performing well where can I find a solution to help him?

"And we go back again.

"That is what I do.

"The expectations outside are based on results.

"Ours is based on finding solutions, how we do things, getting along with the players.

"Including showing the way and improving.

"It is about everybody.

"Coaches, managers, staff and look through all the details that can help us in terms of recovering because this is what we did before and we did it well.

"We have to recover well.

"Rest well and prepare for the next game."

Willy Boly returned from suspension to start on the left of the back three on Thursday with Bennett recalled after his omission from the Chelsea defeat.

Nuno explained that Bennett missed the clash due to shape and profile reasons.

The two men who took Boly and Bennett's spots against Chelsea Jesus Vallejo and Romain Saiss moved straight back out of the side.

Vallejo missed out on a spot on the bench and Nuno explained that omission.

He said: "The same as three days ago with Ryan and I explain to you.

"It is the same idea.

"We have a (matchday) squad of 18 players.

"So we rotate depending on what we want from the game with the game plan."
