Leicester United were ruthlessly swept aside as free-scoring Wolves hammered home eight goals without reply.

Hat-tricks from Jade Cross and Alice Keitley, plus solo efforts from Lyndsey Glover and Sophie Bramford saw Wolves, who had lost 3-2 to TNS in their previous outing, breeze past the former league leaders at Castlecroft.

Dan McNamara’s side made a positive start and were rewarded after 12 minutes when Cross’s lay-off found Glover and she fired home.

Goal-machine Cross then added number two with a confident finish.

And it wasn’t long before Cross bagged her second of the day, jinking her way past a Leicester defender before finding the far corner of the net.

It was more of the same from Wolves after the break as they continued to dominate.

Keitley bagged a brace in two minutes early in the half to make it 5-0 before substitute Sophie Bramford added number six with a fine long-range into the bottom-right corner.

The final 10 minutes saw Cross and Keitley both complete their hat-tricks.

Jamilla Palmer had an opportunity to get on the scoresheet from the penalty spot in stoppage time, but shes was denied by a stunning save from the Leicester goalkeeper.
