Former Wolves keeper Wayne Hennessey cleared of making alleged Nazi salute
Former Wolves goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey has today been cleared of making an alleged Nazi salute during a team photo captured by German international Max Meyer.
The Welsh international had originally been charged with bringing the game into disrepute, following a celebratory team meal which proceeded Crystal Palace's FA Cup victory against Grimsby Town in January.
Hennessey claimed it was an innocent mistake, suggesting he was covering his mouth and signalling to the other side of the room, just as Meyer was capturing an image for his Instagram post.
The FA have now announced that he has been cleared by an Independent Regulatory Commission.
Wolves' former stopper has made 18 league appearances this season, however has only started one game since being forced off at half time with injury against Watford on January 12.
