Utility man Romain Saiss has faith Wolves can reign

Season ticket holders were today able to snap up tickets for Wolves’ semi-final against Watford at Wembley on Sunday, April 7.

It is their first semi-final since 1998, and utility man Saiss is targeting a first Cup triumph since 1960.

When asked if they can win the whole thing, the Moroccan said: “Of course. Because now we’re one of only four teams.

“Two games (away), so when you play a competition it’s to win.

“We have to be focused for the semi-final.”

Wolves have beaten Liverpool, Shrewsbury (with a replay), Bristol City and Manchester United to get to the semis.

Saiss performed admirably at the back in the 2-1 win over United at a raucous Molineux last weekend.

And the 28-year-old admits it was one of the most special games he has been a part of since joining the club in 2016.

On if it was the best, Saiss said: “Maybe. Because with the fans... it was the place to take us to the semi-final. It was amazing.

“It was an amazing game. I think it was almost perfect.

“Unfortunately, we conceded one goal at the end, but our plan was very good.

“I think we played very well, without the ball we stayed compact. We deserved the win, and the fans were fantastic.

“Everything was there to do something great. We can be proud of ourselves, and we’re waiting for the semi-final now.”

Wolves will be wearing their all-white away strip against Watford after a coin toss earlier this week.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will be looking to return the favour to the Hornets in the clash that kicks off at 4pm and will also be broadcast live on BT Sport 2 after losing 2-0 to them at Molineux in October.

Wolves have been allocated 33,000 tickets for the semi-final, meaning all of the season ticket holders are guaranteed a ticket.

There are 22,000 season ticket holders, and the rest of the tickets for the big game are expected to be snapped up by members.
