Sol Bamba missing rest of season after injury at Wolves

Cardiff defender Sol Bamba will miss the rest of the season with an ACL injury he picked up against Wolves last weekend.

Bamba, 34, sustained the injury as he fouled Wolves wideman Adama Traore in the Bluebirds' 2-0 defeat at Molineux on Saturday.

He had to leave the pitch on a stretcher, and Cardiff boss Neil Warnock has revealed the centre-half will play no further part in their bid to stay in the Premier League.

"Unfortunately our biggest fears have been confirmed regarding the injury Sol suffered at Wolves on Saturday," said Warnock.

"Scans have shown that Sol has ruptured his ACL; he will have an operation on Wednesday and therefore miss the rest of the season.

"It is a major blow to the squad but I know all of our supporters will join me in wishing him the very best during his recovery."
