Adama Traore, Ruben Vinagre, Morgan Gibbs-White and John Ruddy were handed rare league starts for Saturday’s 2-0 win over Cardiff.

Romain Saiss was also brought back into the XI and everyone contributed in a convincing victory, following on from a dreadfully poor 1-0 defeat at Huddersfield just a few days earlier.

Captain Coady said: “There’s been a few tired boys over the past couple of weeks but the performance on Saturday showed everyone is needed.

“The Premier League is so, so tough, a few boys have been tired or a bit jaded and Tuesday at Huddersfield wasn’t good enough from our point of view.

“The win was was needed. It was professional, I thought the boys who came in were outstanding.

“They brought a lot to how we wanted to play and do things and the movement we wanted to do.

“We’ve got a small squad and everyone is needed throughout the season.

“From start to finish, I thought we controlled the game and nullified them and the two goals were brilliant as well.

“It’s been tough (with the recent schedule). We’ll get on the training pitch, we’ll have a day off and get ready to go again.”

Wolves travel to Chelsea on Sunday before a mouth-watering FA Cup quarter-final against Manchester United the following weekend.

Coady said it was important to get back to winning ways.

“It was pleasing to win how we did and it could have been more,” he added.

“We’ve been on a run that we’ve enjoyed, we didn’t play well at Huddersfield and we needed to put it right.

“The message was to focus and not get complacent in what we were doing.

“We needed to bounce back. We need to win games at Molineux.”
