Neil Warnock: Wolves man Ryan Bennett should have seen red

Cardiff boss Neil Warnock insists he will never know how Wolves defender Ryan Bennett avoided a sending off in their 2-0 defeat at Molineux.

The Bluebirds were outplayed for large parts of the clash but could have had a lifeline towards the end of the first half.

Bennett, who had been booked earlier on for tugging Bobby Reid, took down Joe Bennett with a late sliding challenge but was allowed to continue.

And Warnock said: "How Bennett didn’t get sent off I’ll never know. Second bookable offence.

"He looks straight at the referee. He knows he’s committed a second booking.

"We don’t seem to be getting those decisions at the minute.

"We’ve got to make our own luck and stop feeling sorry for ourselves, but I think that was a crucial decision.

"When he (Andre Marriner) sees it he’ll be disappointed, but we’re not getting those decisions."

Warnock felt his side started well at Molineux but were poor as Wolves grabbed a quick-fire double through Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez.

"I was stood there with 15 minutes gone thinking I’ve never been as comfortable at Wolves," said Warnock.

"The crowd were restless and within two minutes we’re 2-0 down. Same old story really and you can’t keep going on saying that.

"The first goal is a great goal but from our point of view at least three of our lads could have done better. The second goal Sol (Bamba) knows - you can’t do things like that at this level."

He added: "We shot ourselves in the foot really and never gave ourselves a chance."
