Ryan Bennett has urged Wolves to avoid a 'blip' by immediately bouncing back to beat Cardiff this weekend.

Nuno Espirito Santo's team fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night.

They face a struggling Cardiff team on Saturday looking to steer clear of another team doing the double over them.

And Bennett said: "We've had a blip before for a longer time than one game – we don't want that to happen again.

"They're games you look at and people think they're easy, but there are no easy games in this league.

"We know that as a group of players.

"We've come out on top more times than not this season, it's up to us to work hard this week and put Tuesday to bed by getting the three points.

"Tuesday wasn't a very good game from both teams, it probably wasn't very good to watch.

"We've managed to grind those results out recently. At certain times this season we've kept going and scored late.

"Unfortunately this time we got done in the last minute. It was difficult to take."

Huddersfield hadn't won a game since beating Wolves in November. The Terriers had only earned a solitary point in that time – against Cardiff – losing 13 of 14 matches.

But Bennett insisted: "We didn't underestimate them, definitely not. We never go into a game underestimating anyone, I don't think you can.

"We came up from the Championship, we're new to this league as well.

"We knew how tough it would be at the start of the year and how tough it'll be for the rest of the season.

"We weren't expecting it but every game in this league is tough. We've had two tough away games in the last four or five days.

"We knew they'd make it difficult and they were set up to do that. Credit to them.

"We've got certain routines we do all the time when we go out and play.

"We tried to implement that but sometimes it doesn't happen for you – this was one of those nights. We were trying to do things we normally do and it just wasn't really working.

"At times like that you need to dig in and keep solid at the back. For the most part we did do that.

"It didn't really work all night for us. We need to bounce back quickly."
