Conor Coady says he needs to keep growing as a player if he’s to continue his Wolves journey.

The captain and centre-half penned a new long-term deal with the club last week along with Matt Doherty.

The pair are both signed up until 2023 and Coady said he’s had to improve to keep pace with the rapid change at Wolves since Nuno Espirito Santo took charge.

“We’ve got to keep growing,” he said. “Players will come and go but if we’re here we have to help it grow.

“It’s been important that players who were here before grew with the club, we could see the ambition.

“The manager came in with an identity and I wanted to be part of that.

“I love being here, I feel at home.

“The manager has changed direction of the club and the past two years have been amazing by anybody’s standards.

“As long as I’m helping the club, which I need to do – I need to stay with it – and keeping on working hard, I should be OK.

“Take away me being here, the club is sensational and the last two years have been immense.

“It’s not taken long to sign the new contract, as soon as they came to me to have a chat about it I wanted to get it done.”
