Wolves boss Nuno demands FA Cup focus ahead of Shrewsbury clash

Wolves host Shrewsbury Town at Molineux tomorrow in a fourth round replay after the teams drew 2-2 at Montgomery Waters Meadow last month.

The winner will face Championship side Bristol City away on February 17.

Nuno said: "The next game is always the most important and we must be really focused tomorrow. We have to be switched on.

"It was a tough game (at Shrewsbury), we were fortunate to get a last minute goal

"We have to be conscious it's not an easy task, Shrewsbury will come here and that for them – and us – is a cup final.

"I expect a very tough game against a highly motivated team."

Wolves are seventh in the Premier League and hopeful of enjoying a good run in the FA Cup, with several big sides having already been knocked out.

Nuno said he understood the excitement levels among the club's supporters – but won't allow that to creep into the squad.

"We're doing OK but we know success doesn't last long unless you work for it to sustain your performances and achieve consistency.

"(Achieving consistency) is one of the hardest ting to do in football. We're really trying to do that.

"I understand the excitement of the fans, they're proud of the team and what they see in the pitch.

"This is what makes me pleased

"The expectations outside doesn't mean a lot. we work for the fans and try to give them moments of happiness."

After the Shrewsbury game Wolves will travel to Marbella for a mid-season getaway, before returning on Sunday ahead of Monday's Premier League clash against Newcastle at Molineux.

Nuno took his players to the same resort last season – and on their return Wolves ended a four-game winless streak to then win three on the bounce.

"There's no holiday," Nuno insisted. "Holiday is only in May.

"Like we did last season, the schedule allows us now to go.

"We go to work, focus and prepare for the Newcastle game."
