Matt Doherty's 93rd minute equaliser, after Raul Jimenez had pulled a goal back, saw Wolves earn a fourth round replay.

Their League One opponents had taken a 2-0 lead in a frantic second half.

Nuno said 'everything changed' after Shrewsbury's 46th minute opener - and that the Montgomery Waters Meadow pitch affected his team's style of play.

He said: "The effort of the boys in the last minutes was amazing, to allow us to stay in the cup. It's part of our character.

"This is the cup, you need to be committed to it (although) we don't want late goals! We try to avoid these situations.

"It's a very tight schedule for us (now).

"We knew it would be tough, the pitch, a well organised, intense and aggressive team. It was a good game of football.

"The way we conceded, we should look at that. Everything was different after Shrewsbury's goal, they became very aggressive and compact.

"Let's try to finish it at Molineux."

Jimenez and Ivan Cavaleiro impressed from the bench, while youngster Ryan Giles gave a solid display on his Wolves debut.

"Jimenez brought energy," Nuno said. "Sometimes options work out, sometimes they don't. Traore did well. Ryan did good, he's one of our back-ups.

"I knew it would be difficult. I knew the moment I arrived the pitch is difficult, sometimes it's too hard to play one-touch so the speed of the ball changes and the lines are different.

"In terms of possession, not so good. Defensively the first half was no problem and we should try to be more clinical.

"Second half, everything changes with Shrewsbury's goal, they were dangerous on the counter attack and we didn't have space.

"It required different options and solutions. I'm glad we did it.

"Shrewsbury, I congratulate them, everyone enjoyed a good game of football."
