Virgil Van Dijk stood out for the Reds and helped nullify Traore's exceptional pace.

The Spaniard had a couple of early efforts for the hosts but faded before being taken off just after the hour mark.

"That's a challenge, a proper challenge," said Klopp on Traore.

"Wolves had two proper strikers so we had the ball and passed it around.

"But if you lose one ball... you need to use a motorbike when Adama is playing.

"Both teams tried to play good football.

"The boys were really focused, so it was a good game and a deserved win, at a difficult place."

Klopp's charges displayed a cutting edge to prevail 2-0, while Wolves, having put up a valiant fight, missed a few good openings.

Mo Salah and Van Dijk got on the scoresheet.

"It was very mature. It was such a difficult game to play, especially with the heavy rain," added Klopp.

"It made it a bit more complicated. The best thing to do, to stay in charge, is to keep the ball - and we did that.

"Both goals, we were really quick in mind, which was brilliant.

"It was hard work tonight. We could have controlled the game a bit more, but Wolves were desperate to score in the second half.

"I'm completely happy with the performance."
