Neil Warnock: We deserved win against Wolves

Cardiff chief Neil Warnock insists the 'deserved' victory over Wolves was not any sweeter despite his spat with Nuno Espirito Santo last season.

The Bluebirds boss had a run-in with Nuno after Wolves' dramatic 1-0 win in South Wales in April.

But the pair have since buried the hatchet and when asked if the triumph against Nuno's side made turning 70 any more enjoyable, Warnock said: "Not really.

"It would've been the same against anybody.

"Wolves were the best team in the Championship last season – but we weren't far behind them.

"I'm really proud of them. I think they deserved it over the 90 minutes.

"We thought 'let's have a go'. We wanted to get at them in midfield, close them down."

He added: "This is why I'm still in the game.

"We got better as the game went on. Wolves improved, but we deserved it."
