Wolves were 3-0 down on the hour mark thanks to goals from Erik Lamela, Lucas Moura and Harry Kane.

The hosts, buoyed by a loud Molineux crowd, responded with penalties from Ruben Neves and Raul Jimenez on a massively entertaining night but, ultimately, fell to a third straight Premier League defeat.

"We could have got everything – we could have got what we got, we could have drawn, we could have won," said Nuno.

"It was a very good game of football, a very emotional game.

"We started good, creating, but then we conceded – and then conceded again to make it 2-0.

"Then the reaction was good. Even in the first half, we were able to have a go.

"You knew that one goal could change the dynamic. With the heart of the team, the character of the team, we took more risks.

"We played good football, up until the end. Sometimes you get rewarded, sometimes you don't – you just keep on moving.

"The heart and the spirit are there but we need to work and improve, to get wins that match the performances of the team.

"One of the most important things is defensive organisation. Keeping a clean sheet is always the first goal that a team must have.

"Three goals is very hard to come back from. We have to grow and get better."
