The club has launched a drive to get more fans to turn up, with the first team playing away at Brighton on Saturday.

Rob Edwards’ free-scoring team are second in the Premier League 2 Division Two table, two points behind United.

Wolves have scored 22 goals in eight games, making them the league’s highest scorers, helped by a 7-0 pummelling of Sunderland last month.

Scottish Under-21 international Elliot Watt, Danish wing-back Oskar Buur Rasmussen who scored for Nuno's first team last season, Shropshire wing-back Ryan Giles who starred in pre-season, Portuguese midfielder Pedro Goncalves and young strikers Benny Ashley-Seal and Niall Ennis are among the regular names in the under-23 side.

Managing director Laurie Dalrymple said: “We want to give them a greater degree of exposure because they are such a talented group.

“Our lads are playing brilliantly and I would hope that this game at Molineux will gain strong support.”

Admission is free for season ticket holders, although they must ‘purchase’ the ticket online first via the Wolves website. General admission is £4, while tickets for U17s are £2. Kick off is 7pm.
