Mike Ashley, who is also CEO of Sports Direct

His ownership of The Magpies has been branded 'dreadful, parsimonious (being very unwilling to spend money), parasitic', in a blog post by fan website The Mag.

The campaign is using the hashtag #boycottwolves ahead of the game which takes place at St James' Park on December 9.

The blog post says: "This is a message to ALL NEWCASTLE FANS – please boycott this game.

"Please watch it on TV at home or in a pub instead.

"Why?

"It will show to the watching world how sick we all are of the dreadful, parsimonious, parasitic ownership of Mike Ashley.

"How can they keep a straight face on Sky when they announce a crowd of 50,000 to an empty stadium?

"Newcastle’s biggest strength is also its greatest weakness. The loyalty of the fans.

"We have put up with so much for so long. Well not any more.

"A full “all out” boycott live on TV has never been successfully achieved in this country. Lets make history.

"The time for positive action is NOW.

"I am not advocating people going to the ground at all. Stay local. If people want to go in, let them. That is their business.

"Treat this like a picket line. A fans picket line. Will you cross it?? I won’t.

"Please support. This us our chance to make a difference.
