Steve Bull: Manchester City have got everything – but they are beatable
The games don’t come any harder than today’s. Man City are a well organised side who have goals running through their veins.
Even their goalkeeper could score if he had a chance!
Sergio Aguero can score the odd goal here or there. No, seriously, Aguero is dangerous all over the park. You only have to give him the slightest sniff. He can score from from a tight angle or a 30-yard wonder. He has got everything and that is why he is worth millions of pounds. Coady and Boly will absolutely relish the challenge. Man City have got a massive squad and they are very talented. But I am more worried about ourselves and how we approach the game. Will we take the game to them or let them dictate us?
But I have just got a feeling in my bones that we could pull off a result, like we nearly did against them in the Carabao Cup.
If we play like how we started against Leicester City, then it will be two good sides having a good go against each other.
I can see us getting something out of the game. People might laugh at me, but we have just got to put the chances away.
Manchester City are beatable, no doubt about it.
They beat Huddersfield 6-1 but I thought Huddersfield were a poor side, I reckon they will be down at the bottom.
But they still fought against them, so if we can keep a clean sheet then 1-0 could be on the cards.
Everybody is human and beatable. We have got to go out there and set our stall out. The crowd will be a big part of it as well.
We played Liverpool in the cup and beat them 2-1 and got a 0-0 draw against Man City last year in the cup, so it is possible.
We can’t give them too much respect, though. Show them some, but not too much. All it boils down to is ourselves. We are 11 against 11. We are all human and beatable. We have done it before so we can do it again.
One thing where we must improve though, is to start being more clinical. I have said this from day one, we can’t keep having chance after chance and not score. We will get punished badly. You can go 1-0 down in the Championship, you can’t in the Premier League.
It is just about us getting used to the Premier League and gaining our confidence. It won’t happen overnight, it might take two games, five or 10, you don’t know, but you just have to let them get on with it.
