Wolves' Helder Costa embracing Manchester City challenge
Helder Costa prepares to do battle against his good friend Bernardo Silva as he said: "These are the games we worked for."
The Portuguese winger played with Manchester City midfielder Silva for 10 years with the pair coming through the Benfica youth setup together before linking up again at Monaco.
And Silva is just one of the players that Costa and Wolves need to keep a close eye on today.
"I met Bernardo in 2004 or 2005 and we started playing together in the Benfica youth academy," Costa said.
"We played together for over 10 years then I played with him at Monaco, we have a close friendship, we still speak regularly and I hope the best man wins on Saturday
"We’ll have time to be friends after the game but as soon as the referee blows his whistle, we’ll be opponents and we’re there to compete.
"I wasn’t surprised (Silva went to Manchester City), knowing Bernardo’s quality and what kind of player he is.
"I think it’s obvious to everyone what he’s capable of and I hope he continues to develop and show us his footballing skill
"We haven’t had time to talk about the Premier League but I’m sure I’ll be asking him for advice because he already has a year of Premier League (experience) and I’m sure he can help me
"But I’ll talk to him after this weekend."
Reigning Premier League champions Manchester City have got off to a flying start with two impressive victories over Arsenal (2-0) and Huddersfield (6-1).
It's a huge task for Wolves – but one Costa is embracing.
"Yeah sure, it’s for these games that we’ve worked for during the last couple of years and now we’re here, we have to enjoy it," he said.
"We know Man City is a great team, they play very well but we have our own weapons, we’ll be playing our own football we won’t change anything, we’re here to compete."
