Rob Edwards wants more after Wolves' derby delight
Under-23 boss Rob Edwards praised his players after they thrashed Albion 4-1 in Premier League 2 – but wants more.
Goals from Benny Ashley-Seal (two), Niall Ennis and Pedro Goncalves saw Edwards’ team register a big win against the 10-man Baggies, who had Nathan Ferguson sent off for two bookable offences.
Edwards took charge of the side this summer, returning to Wolves’ coaching setup after a season away managing Telford.
And he said of Friday’s victory: “At 2-0 up against 10 men it’s a real chance to enjoy the game.
“I thought we were professional and we were aggressive at winning it back.
“We were a bit sloppy at times and could have created more, but we’ve scored four against the local rivals which is always nice and doesn’t happen often.
“Fans will look at Benny having a couple of goals, he and Niall looked a threat in the first half.
“Pedro scored a fantastic goal and has some real quality – we want to keep getting him on the ball in the right areas of the pitch.
“Cameron John and Alex (Molberg) at the back were real leaders along with Elliot (Watt), I can hear them talking and communicating.
“I thought West Brom started the game better than us and they showed their quality.
“We stayed in the game well, defended the box pretty well and then got the first goal.
“Then it was fairly even and the second goal and sending off changes it more and we’re dominant.
“Overall we’re pleased but we want and need more.”
