Chris Iwelumo positive despite Wolves defeat
Ex-Wolves man Chris Iwelumo thinks there were plenty of positives to Nuno Espirito Santo's men to take from Saturday's match at Leicester, despite a 2-0 defeat.
Former striker Iwelumo was at the King Power and provided analysis on Signal 107.
After the match he said he was impressed with Wolves – but called on their exciting creative play to 'have a purpose' in terms of end product.
"Possession-wise (Wolves were) very good," Iwelumo said.
"I think in the first 20-25 minutes we looked very good, creating chances, disappointing that we never put them in the back of the net.
"That's the difference with the Championship and the Premier League.
"Chances come in the Championship, we've seen that many times, but they come very few and far between in the Premier League and you have to take them.
An own goal from Matt Doherty and a deflected James Maddison strike gave the Foxes all three points.
But Wolves hit the woodwork three times and spurned good opportunities.
Iwelumo, who played for Wolves from 2008 to 2010, added: "The brand of football that we play is exciting but it has to be with a purpose as well.
"We showed that we can create, we've shown that we can handle it at this level, we just have to be clinical and I think that's the frustration everyone will walk away with.
"Nuno will watch the video in front of the boys on Monday and when they dissect it they'll say look, we've held our own, on another day we could be 3-0 up and out of sight and it's a completely different game, completely controlled and comfortable.
"Nuno asked the boys to be composed and they were, they got on the ball, used it well and controlled the match.
"There's so many positives to take out of it, but they've just got to be clinical."
