The start to his second season has seen him land one of the most sought after pieces of football memorabilia in the country – England ace and Everton star Jordan Pickford's goalkeeper gloves.

Football fan Patrick Mosedale, 5, couldn't believe his luck when England's number one gave him his luminous green Nike gloves at the end of Saturday's 2-2 clash between Wolves and Everton.

The youngster had taken his own gloves for the star to sign, but class act Pickford, who played a key role in England's hugely successful World Cup run this summer, instead gave him his own.

Mom Natalie Mosedale, 29, says his brother Billy, 8, who couldn't be at the game due to illness, was overjoyed after Patrick received the 24-year-old keepers gloves.

Mrs Mosedale, from Pelsall, said: "It was at the end of the game. At the beginning of the game they went with a programme and a pen to get signatures.

"My youngest wanted to take his goalie gloves and at the end of the game we went to see if we could get Pickford.

"He held his gloves out at the end and Pickford just took his own gloves off and he gave them to my son Patrick.

"When he got them he did a little squeal and ran over to his dad and his uncle. The only word out of his mouth for the rest of the night was Pickford this, Pickford that.

"When he goes to school he wants to take the gloves in. His brother was jealous because he was poorly and couldn't go to the game.

"But his brother Billy was over the moon for him. We rang him to say we saw Gareth Southgate and told him about the gloves."

Billy and Patrick with Nuno

Patrick became inseparable with the gloves after receiving them from the Premiership keeper – and mom Natalie managed to snap him even sleeping with them.

Since posting the pictures to Twitter, Natalie has received more than 1,000 likes and offers to buy the gloves.

Mrs Mosedale said: "We are going to get them put into a perspex box. Somebody has already asked if they can buy them off us. Patrick had a really good time."

The Mosedale family, who all have season tickets for The Billy Wright stand, sit near to the dugout section of the ground – a position that has seen the family brushing shoulders with the stars more than once.

Both Patrick and Billy got to meet Wolves boss Nuno and midfielders Neves and Jota at the end of the teams outstanding season last year.
