The Toffees were leading 1-0 up until the incident when Jagielka fouled Diogo Jota just on the edge of the box.

Ruben Neves converted the resulting free-kick on 44 minutes to level the scores and Everton had to play with 10 men for the rest of the match.

Silva said: "It was a harsh decision in that moment.

"The game for sure would always be different, always different if you play 11 against 11, you never what will happen in the second half, but for sure it will be different.

"It was different in the second half for us, we knew we had to organise the team in a different way with 10 men. It was very good organisation that we showed second half.

"We knew they (Wolves) would have more time on the ball with 11 against 10, it is normal. It is clear we had the best chance to score more goals."
