The Anderlecht defensive midfielder/centre half joins on a season-long loan deal which will become permanent next summer.

It was thought Dendoncker was set to join immediately in a permanent deal £12m but that will now go through in a year's time.

Dendoncker has won six caps for Belgium and featured in the World Cup in Russia, playing 90 minutes against England in the group game that Belgium won 1-0.

He has played 171 times for Anderlecht and has Champions League experience.

Dendoncker has been courted by some of Europe's top clubs with Manchester United among those said to be watching him earlier this year.

Wolves are still chasing a new wing back before today's 5pm transfer deadline after a £16m move for Manchester City's Oleksandr Zinchenko fell through.

The 21-year-old rejected a move to Molineux this morning.
