Wolves close in on £28m double swoop for Zinchenko and Dendoncker
Wolves are closing in on a £28million double swoop to take their summer spending to more than £80m before tomorrow’s 5pm transfer deadline.
Leander Dendoncker and Oleksandr Zinchenko are both on the verge of moving to Molineux – hot on the heels of an £18m club record move for winger Adama Traore which was completed this morning.
Belgian defensive midfielder/centre half Dendoncker, aged 23, is believed to be at Compton Park tonight completing a medical ahead of a £12m switch from Anderlecht.
And 21-year-old Manchester City left wing back/central midfielder Zinchenko is thought to be heading to the training ground tomorrow morning for his medical and to finalise personal terms.
That deal would cost £16m and take Wolves' spending this summer to a huge £84m.
Dendoncker has won six caps for his country including one against England during their World Cup group stage clash. After coming through the ranks at Anderlecht he's plaeyd 171 times for the club including in the Champions League.
Wolves have chased Zinchenko all summer but he looked likely to agree to a move until now as he was keen to see if he had a future at City.
City have needed Zinchenko to feature in their pre-season games with fellow left-footers Bernard Mendy coming back to full match fitness following a long-term injury and Fabian Delph returning late after the World Cup.
However, the 21-year-old was not in City’s squad for their 2-0 Community Shield win over Chelsea at the weekend and he's now likely to join Wolves ahead of the window closing at 5pm on Thursday.
If they go ahead the two deals should complete Wolves' summer business with no other deals thought to be in the pipeline.
