Barry Douglas admits Wolves exit was hard to take
Barry Douglas admitted leaving Wolves was 'hard to take' after completing his move to Leeds United.
The 28-year-old Scot has penned a three-year contract with the Championship club and leaves Molineux after a stellar year in gold and black.
"The move happened quite fast, Wolves obviously took the decision to let me know I wasn’t going to be part of their plans which was hard to take at first, but life goes on," Douglas told Leeds TV.
"I then found out about the interest from Leeds and the project here is similar to what was going on at Wolves last year and it is very exciting, so that is what made the decision for me to come here.
“It’s exciting times and I am looking forward to getting going now and meeting the squad."
He later added in a Twitter message: "So where do I begin...the past week has been crazy, from being totally focused and preparing for the start of the new season with Wolves to then being made aware I would no longer be part of the plan going forward.
"The decision to leave was ultimately taken out of my hands, but such is life!
"The situation has taught me to always expect the unexpected.
"I've had an unbelievable journey last season and I'm so thankful and honoured to have been a part of it, I met many amazing people there and wish all the backroom staff and players all the very best in their careers, the club is going incredible places and I look forward to watching them grown.
"To every single fan; thank you for your continued support throughout the season, also the way you made Debbie and Kaidyn feel a part of the Wolves family is truly appreciated, we have made some amazing memories here we will cherish forever. Wolves ay we."
