The Scottish international starred last season with 14 assists as Wolves romped to the Championship title.

But with Spanish wing back Jonny Castro set to sign on loan from Atletico Madrid today – and with Wolves still hopeful of signing Manchester City's Oleksandr Zinchenko for a club record £16million – Douglas is deemed surplus to requirements.

Wolves also signed Ruben Vinagre for a reported fee of £2m this summer, while youngster Ryan Giles has impressed at left wing back in pre-season with Douglas sidelined with a muscle strain.

Douglas, who won his first Scotland cap last season, joined Wolves for a bargain £1m from Turkish side Konyaspor a year ago.

He is now set to negotiate personal terms with the Yorkshire club and the deal is expected to go ahead.

The 28-year-old's contract is due to expire next summer. He penned a two-year deal last summer, with Wolves having the option of an extra year.
