Wolves sign wing-back Jonny Castro Otto on loan – with two more to follow
Spanish wing-back Jonny Castro has joined Wolves on a season-long loan – as the club eye up two more signings in the next two weeks.
The 24-year-old has left Celta Vigo for Atletico Madrid on a permanent deal – and immediately moves to Molineux for the season.
The 5ft 5in Spanish Under-21 international – known commonly as Jonny – is right-footed but can play on either flank and is seen as ideal competition for both Barry Douglas and Matt Doherty.
Jonny has signed a long-term deal with Atletico and the switch to Wolves has now been confirmed.
He has come through the ranks at hometown club Celta and played 222 times in all competitions, scoring five goals.
The Express & Star understands that Wolves hope to sign two more players before the August 9 deadline – a central midfielder and a forward.
A £16m offer to buy Manchester City's Oleksandr Zinchenko remains on the table, with the 21-year-old Ukrainian international's versatility a big draw for Wolves. Zinchenko can play down the left flank or in central midfield.
There remains interest in Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore who is believed to have an £18m release clause.
However links with AC Milan striker Andre Silva and Sporting winger Gelson Martins – both Portuguese internationals – have no foundation.
Joao Moutinho's £5m switch from Monaco was completed yesterday with the 31-year-old confirmed as a Wolves player.
